CHEF FERNANDO ALCALA
Born in Marbella, he studied Law and chose to leave his career as a lawyer in Zurich to pursue cooking. His first personal project, Kava, opened its doors in 2015 after training in the kitchen alongside professionals like Arzak. In 2019, he was named Revelation Chef at Madrid Fusión, establishing himself as one of the references in Marbella’s cuisine. Today, KAVA holds a Repsol Sun, an award it won in 2021 and renewed in this latest 2024 edition thanks to a culinary proposal that surprises with its raw materials and global technique. In recent years, Fernando has continued to embark on new ventures and grow. In 2022, he launched Cotxino, an informal tavern designed for enjoyment, offering traditional dishes and tapas with a personal touch. ‘Bolero’, his latest project, opened its doors this past year 2023 in Manila.
